David Oliver has been practicing disability law since 1992 and since that time he has helped more than 8,000 people get their disability benefits. David taught Social Security Disability Law Practice at Harvard Law School’s Legal Services Center for four years and has spent more than 15 years using his experience on behalf of the disabled in Seattle, Tacoma and throughout the Puget Sound Region.  David entered the field of disability law because he is committed to improving the lives of the ill and injured.  That commitment continues and grows stronger with every disabled man, woman or child he assists in obtaining Social Security Disability & SSI Disability benefits. David is a sustaining member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimant’s Representatives.

Sydney Oliver / Business Manager

Sydney has been David’s partner since the early 1990s. With 16 judges and lawyers in her family she is continuing the tradition. She has been a globe trotter since her youth, living in Turkey, Germany and France, she has settled now in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. She believes in social justice and her work with the disabled is grounded in this core belief. She speaks three languages and when not working she can be found bicycling, reading and traveling to distant shores.

Karen Palmer : Paralegal

Karen Palmer, originally from San Diego, CA moved to Tacoma, WA where she graduated from a local High School. Her first career choice was in telecommunications, first employed at AT&T as a long distance customer service representative. She then worked in the cable industry in a number of positions at Viacom and TCI cable for ten years. Her career path then moved to the financial district when she was hired at EDS Corporation, starting as a Customer Service Representative and through hard work moved up to Supervisor. Karen then took an intermission in her personal career to raise a family and enroll in College. She completed her AA and Paralegal degrees from Tacoma Community College and has now embarked on her third and current career in the Law.

Kathy Erwin : Paralegal


Kathy is a native of Washington State and a graduate of Washington State University. She also has a AA paralegal degree from Highline Community College. She has been working in the area of Social Security Disability since 2000 and she is proud to be a member of a team of attorneys and staff dedicated to helping people obtain the social security benefits to which they are entitled.
